Treatment of Cough

In Treatment of Cough A dry cough is a cough where no phlegm or mucus is produced. It may cause a tickling sensation or itching in the throat and may be due to cold, flu, allergies or throat irritants. Jtus-EX Syrup suppresses severe dry cough and gives you relief from an itchy throat. Along with taking Jtus-EX Syrup, gargling with warm salt water and having ginger or honey can help you manage dry cough.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Nausea, Vomiting, Upset stomach, Sleepiness']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Jtus-EX Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Jtus-EX Syrup is a combination of five medicines: Ambroxol, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Phenylephrine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate and Menthol. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough center in the brain. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic which relieves symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Menthol produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.

Alcohol

CAUTION - Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Jtus-EX Syrup. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Jtus-EX Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Jtus-EX Syrup is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - It is not known whether Jtus-EX Syrup alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Jtus-EX Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Jtus-EX Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

UNSAFE - Jtus-EX Syrup is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Jtus-EX Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
