Meczine Tablet SR is a combination medicine used in the treatment of vertigo. It prevents the feeling of nausea, vomiting, light-headedness and other symptoms of vertigo. Meczine Tablet SR is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. Common side effects of this medicine include vomiting, dryness in the mouth, headache, and fatigue. These are usually mild and disappear after a short time. Consult your doctor if they persist. How it works
Meczine Tablet SR is a combination of two medicines: Meclizine and Folic Acid. Meclizine is an antihistamine which works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine), thereby controlling nausea, vomiting and light-headedness in vertigo. Folic acid provides essential nutrients.

Pregnancy
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Meczine Tablet SR is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Breast feeding
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Meczine Tablet SR is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. Larger doses or prolonged use of Meczine Tablet SR may cause sleepiness and other effects in the baby
Driving
UNSAFE - Meczine Tablet SR may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Meczine Tablet SR is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Meczine Tablet SR may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
