Malaria

In Malaria Mepalex 300mg Tablet is an antimalarial medicine and is used to treat malaria, a serious or life-threatening illness that is spread by a parasite that enters the human body by the bite of infected mosquitoes. It kills the infection-causing parasite and stops the further spread of the infection. Take it only as prescribed and refrain from taking any other medicines along with this medicine (unless advised by the doctor) as they may affect the absorption of this medicine. Do not use this medicine for treating any other condition without consulting your doctor.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Abnormal dreams, Anxiety, Chills, Depression, Diarrhea, Dizziness, Fever, Headache, Atrial arrhythmias (altered heart rate), Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Itching, Loss of appetite, Muscle pain, Nausea, Rash, Ringing in ear, Vertigo, Visual impairment, Vomiting, Fatigue']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Mepalex 300mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

Mepalex 300mg Tablet is an antiparasitic medication which treats malaria. It works by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading.

Alcohol

CAUTION - Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Mepalex 300mg Tablet. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Mepalex 300mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Mepalex 300mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - Mepalex 300mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Mepalex 300mg Tablet can cause dizziness, loss of balance and mental problems and this may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - There is limited information available on the use of Mepalex 300mg Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

CAUTION - Mepalex 300mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Mepalex 300mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Mepalex 300mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

If you miss a dose of Mepalex 300mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
