If your blood pressure is controlled, you are less at risk of having a heart attack, stroke or kidney problems. The medicine must be taken regularly as prescribed to be effective. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. In Treatment of Edema Edema is caused by your body retaining too much water. METORAL 2.5 MG TABLET helps get rid of the extra water and electrolytes from your body by increasing the amount of urine produced. This enables your body to get rid of extra water thereby relieving symptoms such as shortness of breath and swelling in your arms, legs or abdomen. Therefore, you can carry out your daily activities more comfortably. Take it regularly and make appropriate lifestyle changes to get maximum benefits.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. METORAL 2.5 MG TABLET is to be taken with food.

Alcohol

UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with METORAL 2.5 MG TABLET.

Pregnancy

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - METORAL 2.5 MG TABLET is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breast feeding

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - METORAL 2.5 MG TABLET is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - METORAL 2.5 MG TABLET may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. As METORAL 2.5 MG TABLET may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness and this may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - METORAL 2.5 MG TABLET is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of METORAL 2.5 MG TABLET is recommended.

Liver

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - There is limited information available on the use of METORAL 2.5 MG TABLET in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of METORAL 2.5 MG TABLET, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
