Noxagyl DL Suspension makes the stool less watery as well as reduces the frequency of loose motions. It also restores the level of good bacteria in your stomach and thus prevents stomach upset due to the antibiotics. This helps you to stay well and do your daily activities without any problem. Since diarrhea causes loss of fluid from the body, drink plenty of fluids to make sure you stay hydrated. In Treatment of Dysentery Dysentery is a bacterial or parasitic infection in which you pass loose and watery stools with blood and mucus. You may have severe stomach cramps, nausea, and vomiting. Noxagyl DL Suspension works by stopping the growth of bacteria and parasites causing infection. It relieves these symptoms and also helps you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. In order to prevent the spread of infection, it is advisable to always wash your hands after using the toilet.

Noxagyl DL Suspension is a combination of three medicines: Norfloxacin, Metronidazole, and Lactobacillus. Norfloxacin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Metronidazole is also an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively. Lactobacillus is a live microorganism which restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset with antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.

Alcohol

UNSAFE - Consuming alcohol while taking Noxagyl DL Suspension may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Noxagyl DL Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Noxagyl DL Suspension is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - Noxagyl DL Suspension may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Noxagyl DL Suspension may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.

Kidney

CAUTION - Noxagyl DL Suspension should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Noxagyl DL Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Noxagyl DL Suspension is not advised in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver

CAUTION - Noxagyl DL Suspension should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Noxagyl DL Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Noxagyl DL Suspension, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
