This medicine usually makes you feel better quite quickly. However, you should continue taking it as long as it is prescribed even when you feel better, to make sure that all parasites are killed and do not become resistant. This medicine is generally safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding, but you should ask your doctor. In Schistosoma infections Schistosoma infections or Schistosomiasis, also known as snail fever and bilharzia, is a disease caused by parasitic flatworms called schistosomes. In this disease, the urinary tract or the intestines may be infected. The most common symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloody stool, or blood in the urine. Prazijol Tablet helps to treat Schistosoma infections. It relieves these symptoms and also helps you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. You need to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Prazijol Tablet is to be taken with food.

Prazijol Tablet works by causing severe spasms and paralysis of the worms' muscles. Some kinds of worms are then passed in the stool. However, you may not notice them since they are sometimes completely destroyed in the bowels. This treats your infection.

Pregnancy

Breast feeding

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Prazijol Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. To minimize the exposure of the medicine to the baby, Prazijol Tablet can be taken just before the baby's longest sleep period.

Driving

UNSAFE - Prazijol Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Prazijol Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Prazijol Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

CAUTION - Prazijol Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Prazijol Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
