Directions for Use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Spontrel Tablet is to be taken with food.
How it works
Spontrel Tablet is a combination of two pain relievers (Ibuprofen, Paracetamol) and a muscle relaxant (Chlorzoxazone). The pain relievers work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). The muscle relaxant works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and improve movement of muscles.
Alcohol
UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Spontrel Tablet.
Pregnancy
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Spontrel Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Information regarding the use of Spontrel Tablet during breastfeeding is not available. Please consult your doctor.
Driving
UNSAFE - Spontrel Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION - Spontrel Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Spontrel Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Spontrel Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. Long term use of this medicine can affect the kidney function.
Liver
CAUTION - Spontrel Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Spontrel Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. However, the use of Spontrel Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.
What If You Forget to take Spontrel Tablet?
If you miss a dose of Spontrel Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
