Pain relief

In Pain relief Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet relieves pain, reduce swelling and ease inflammation in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet helps relieve muscle pain by relaxing stiff muscles. It also helps to manage short term symptoms such as back pain, toothache or pain in the ear and throat. Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet works by reducing substances in the body that cause pain and swelling.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Stomach pain, Indigestion, Flatulence, Dryness in mouth, Swelling of hands, Feet swelling, Sleepiness, Weakness, Dizziness, Flu-like symptoms']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Valdecoxib and Tizanidine, which relieves pain and relaxes the muscles. Valdecoxib is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Tizanidine is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and to improve pain and movement of muscles.

Alcohol

UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet.

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Information regarding the use of Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet during breastfeeding is not available. Please consult your doctor.

Driving

UNSAFE - Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

CAUTION - Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet is not advised in patients with severe liver disease. Liver function tests are recommended before the start of treatment and then on a regular basis as advised.

If you miss a dose of Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
