Treatment of Bacterial infections

In Treatment of Bacterial infections Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet is used to treat certain bacterial infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, and infections of the throat, skin, and urinary tract. It works by killing the infection-causing microorganisms. This further reduces the discomforts associated with various infections and helps in early recovery. Make sure to complete the full course of treatment. This will ensure that the infection is completely cured and prevent it from returning.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Vomiting, Diarrhea, Stomach pain, Indigestion, Allergic reaction']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Cefadroxil and Clavulanic Acid. Cefadroxil is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate cefadroxil. Addition of clavulanic acid reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefadroxil against bacteria.

Alcohol

SAFE - Consuming alcohol with Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet does not cause any harmful side effects.

Pregnancy

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breast feeding

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet may cause side effects such as allergic reactions, dizziness or fits that may make you unfit to drive.

Kidney

CAUTION - Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Vepan CV 500 mg/125 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
