Isedaz Injection can be used for sedation in intensive care units and to obtain anesthesia in elderly people before undergoing any surgical procedure. This medicine is given as an injection under the supervision of a healthcare professional in a hospital setting. It may be administered by intravenous injection (injection into a vein) or by intravenous infusion (given by a drip into a vein). The most common side effects of this medicine include hiccup, nausea, vomiting, cough, sedation, headache, drowsiness, and injection site reactions (pain, swelling, and redness). How it works
Isedaz Injection is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
Alcohol
UNSAFE - Isedaz Injection may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Pregnancy
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Isedaz Injection is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Isedaz Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. Isedaz Injection should be used for short periods and sleepiness of the baby should be watched. The withdrawal of Isedaz Injection should be gradual.
Driving
UNSAFE - Isedaz Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Isedaz Injection may make the patient sleepy, forgetful or affect their concentration or coordination. This may affect their ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION - Isedaz Injection should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Isedaz Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver

What If You Forget to take Isedaz Injection?
If you miss a dose of Isedaz Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
