How it works
Mezolam Injection is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
UNSAFE - Mezolam Injection may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Mezolam Injection is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Mezolam Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. Mezolam Injection should be used for short periods and sleepiness of the baby should be watched. The withdrawal of Mezolam Injection should be gradual.
UNSAFE - Mezolam Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Mezolam Injection may make the patient sleepy, forgetful or affect their concentration or coordination. This may affect their ability to drive.
CAUTION - Mezolam Injection should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Mezolam Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - There is limited information available on the use of Mezolam Injection in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
What if I forget to take it?
If you miss a dose of Mezolam Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
